In Wuppertal on the 05.10.2021., with this as the topic, WAFIOS forming technology experts met wire heating experts from HIMMELWERK.
For some years now, there has been a trend towards induction wire heating - which has recently increased sharply - especially in the forming of stainless steels, special alloys such as Inconel® and titanium materials. In the last 5 years, WAFIOS Umformtechnik alone has equipped approx. 20 different cold formers in various expansion stages with induction heating - and not only in Europe, but all over the world.
And no wonder - the advantages of wire heating in the immediate vicinity of forming impress users: Optimized material flow and thus higher quality products, tool service life extended many times over - potentially even forming with fewer press stages is possible. Difficult materials such as titanium alloys only become formable at all through heating!
Thus, the workshop in Wuppertal was also the starting signal for an (even) closer cooperation with the induction professionals from HIMMELWERK. WAFIOS Umformtechnik will emphasize the advantages of wire heating even more proactively from now on. In addition to personal discussions with users, further marketing measures are also planned – so that everyone who uses the quality machines from Wuppertal learns about the decisive advantages of induction wire heating.
